But you’re a rock with a heart like a socket (by Bridget Badore)
Neon Pink is a color that is often associated with femininity or with the female gender. It is bright, playful, and youthful. Androgyny on the other hand is associated with shades of gray, literally and figuratively. Androgyny is often literally depicted in black and white or unsaturated colors, to convey the figurative point which is the crossing of the boundaries of gender. The mood board aims to show just this. It is the story of a person with the youthful view of, and interest in, fashion, yet does not exactly fit within the boxes of ladies fashion or menswear. Androgyny does not always mean shades of gray, and neon pink does not always mean femininity. It is all a matter of individuality and personal style.
The look is an everyday look translation of the mood board. The androgyny is incorporated through the combination of the masculinity of the top and the femininity of the silhouette. The playful personality of the neon pink is expressed though the pink pumps and the skull embellished bow tie neckpiece. The outfit presents the story of a person who appreciates fashion and dressing up, but refuses to be bound by the the standards and conventions. For a law student like me, it is a perfect mix of formal and casual, well, maybe minus the skull embellished bow tie.
Internships are great opportunities to have hands-on learning of the skills and techniques in styling and of the nuances of the workings of the field. They are also opportunities to hone interests and previously acquired skills. Having past experience helping out in fashion week, I would be of significant help as an intern. In addition to this, having a background in psychology and advocacies adds an interesting social perspective to my techniques as a styling student. I want this opportunity, because I want to develop my knowledge and skills in styling.
Okay, I rarely enter these contests where I need to show my face and talk about myself, but because I really want a fashion internship this summer, I decided to just go ahead and do this.
So, I would like to ask you guys to vote for me by liking the photo on FashionIntern.Ph’s facebook page. XD Thank you!

Styling Tip:
Express your androgynous side by wearing your favorite pair of Keds with a boyish ensemble. Pair a classic button-down top with an edgy pair of faux leather pants. Add a funky bow tie and suspenders to create the boyish look. Complete the look with your own arm party by layering friendship bracelets, skull bead bracelets, and a wrap watch.
